Greenville Symphony Orchestra: And the Winner Is…

Edvard Tchivzhel, composerThe Greenville Symphony Orchestra welcomes the gold medalist of the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition for their third Masterworks Concert of the 2013-2014 season. He performs Tchaikovsky’s beloved concerto as well as a dazzling encore of Bizet channeled by 20th century virtuoso Vladimir Horowitz. Then the orchestra performs Rachmaninoff’s final symphony, a work significantly different in tone from the more famous first two symphonies by the composer.
