Two renowned soloists guest with the University of South Carolina Symphony Orchestra in two different concerts from 2012. First David Kim, concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, takes center stage for the beloved first concerto by Max Bruch. Then Alexander Fiterstein, winner of the 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant, performs the seldom-heard Clarinet Concerto by Danish composer Carl Nielsen. Serving as bookends are the final Brahms symphony, and one of Aaron Copland’s landmark ballet scores.
