Highlights from two different South Carolina Philharmonic programs comprise this edition of the program. From a February 2012 "Love Stories" concert there’s the heartfelt music from Wagner’s tragic Tristan and Isolde, as well as the lush suite from Richard Strauss’ best-loved opera. A month later they were back in the Koger Center to present a concert titled "Mother Russia?" It included Prokofiev’s klezmer-inspired overture and Rachmaninoff’s beloved concerto featuring rising young star Martina Filjak at the piano.
