Under the Rainbow: Rossini's 'Tancredi'

THE INTRO

THE HIT SINGLE: "Di tanti palpiti"

Early in the first act, after returning from exile in disguise, Tancredi (contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux) sings one of Rossini's most famous arias, expressing his love for Amenaide, and his determination to be with her despite the heartache his absence has caused.

THE B SIDE: "No, che il morir..."

In Act Two, while imprisoned, Amenaide (soprano Patrizia Ciofi) sings this aria resolving to remain faithful to Tancredi, even if it means facing death.
