The Kontras Quartet is in residence with the Western Piedmont Symphony Orchestra - but on this edition of Carolina Live, they'll be playing more intimate works by Haydn, Glazunov and Schumann - before joining the orchestra and soloist Kelly Hall-Tompkins for the Violin Concerto of Jean Sibelius. The chamber concert was recorded in Hickory in October of 2010 at the Catawba Valley Arts and Science Auditiorium; the concerto was at the P.E. Monroe Auditorium at Lenoir-Rhyne University in March of 2011.
