Two concerts from the dynamic Piccolo Spoleto Festival in 2012 are presented back-to-back on this edition of the program. The Summerville Community Orchestra of South Carolina celebrates its tenth anniversary and commemorates the sinking of the Titanic with a concert that begins with a suite from James Horner's score for the popular film. There are showpieces by Reinecke and Sarasate, and the program concludes with Beethoven's most recognizable symphony. The second part features highlights from a concert titled "Northern Lights" given by the acclaimed early music group Chatham Baroque featuring works by two great masters, Buxtehude and Bach.
